about

Josh Wanstreet is a multi-instrumentalist and composer based in West Virginia. His projects through the years have traversed a wide range of genres - from hardcore punk to traditional Appalachian old-time to experimental folk. His latest release, “Lone Journeys,” finds its origins in a series of solo cassette meditations recorded in the 90s, during his time as a U.S. airman stationed in Turkey. Over twenty years later, these influences have gelled into a haunting suite of guitar-based psychedelic & drone compositions. Engineered by Ben Townsend in Elkins, WV, and released on Townsend’s Questionable Records imprint, “Lone Journeys” is a compelling new effort from a musician whose career spans three decades.
